Congratulations to the winners of Decembers Junior Team Handicap Competition; James Knowlson, Giacomo Rutherford, Michael Peacock, Matteo Rutherford, Harry Siddall, Ben Wilberforce and Mikey Wilson

Sedgefield boasts one of the strongest junior sections in the region. Whilst we have developed County & Regional champions and seen juniors go on to represent the club teams, we have also introduced many youngsters to the sport and shown them that they can enjoy the game at whatever level they choose.

The junior section of the club has its own committee who organise coaching and competitions, and link into the County junior set up.

Our racket and ball introductory sessions are aimed at youngsters from the ages of 3 to 7 and help develop hand-eye coordination. From the ages of 7 onwards we run a number of Saturday morning coaching groups, and organise leagues and competitions as well as offering opportunities to access the courts to play friendly games, and holiday “bootcamps”.

We run teams who play against other clubs in the Durham & Cleveland region, and encourage juniors to participate in County competitions.
